What does this indicator measure?

This measure represents the average number of days adult respondents reported their mental health was "not good" when asked: “Thinking about your mental health, which includes stress, depression, and problems with emotions, for how many days during the past 30 days was your mental health not good?” (NOTE: County and comparable state-level estimates have been age-adjusted).

Why is this indicator important?

People not only care about the length of their life, but also the quality of those years. This measure helps describe the recent mental health of the community.
