This measure represents the percent of high school students who reported smoking cigarettes on one or more of the past 30 days.

Why is this indicator important?

Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body, causing many diseases and affecting the health of smokers in general. Quitting smoking has immediate as well as long-term health benefits.
