This measure represents the percent of women 40 and older who reported having a mammogram in the previous two years to screen for breast cancer.

Why is this indicator important?

According to the American Cancer Society, women, beginning at the age of 40, should have yearly mammogram screenings which help detect cancers before a lump can be felt.
